PARTS CONSULTANT

Smith's RV Centre is looking to hire a full-time Parts Consultant to assist our customers in making the best parts and accessory buying decisions to maintain high customer satisfaction and loyalty.  Specifically, we are looking for an active listener who can problem solve and find the right solution quickly and accurately.  The candidate will enjoy a predictable job schedule in a clean, friendly work environment and be able to learn from a team that has years of experience.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Successfully identifies and fulfills customer needs and desires by helping them select the best parts and/or accessory solution
  • Greets customers in a prompt and friendly manner
  • Follows-up with customers in a timely manner
  • Educates themselves on the features and benefits of parts and accessories products and actively seeks out ways to increase their selling capabilities
  • Finalizes parts and accessories transactions by properly closing each sale; including through the use of suggestive selling of parts and accessories that benefit the customer
  • Maintains a current knowledge base of parts and accessories to stay current on legal, safety and recall information to protect all parties
  • Maintains clean, well stocked and attractive merchandise displays
  • Accurately accounts for all incoming and outgoing parts and accessories
  • Performs physical inventory counts on a regular basis
  • Assists in identifying the best inventory mix of parts and accessories

LOT TECHNICIAN

 

Smith’s RV Centre has an immediate opportunity for a Lot Technician reporting to the Lot Coordinator. The successful candidate will be detail oriented and operate best in a structured environment with routine practices.  The career will require hands on involvement in the implementation of tasks and projects through job lists.   

 

The successful candidate must also have a valid G level driver's license.  

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Complete assigned tasks associated with getting sold products ready for customer demonstrations and pick up
  • Understand how and where to organize and locate inventory and service products
  • Operates, maintains and accounts for company equipment and vehicles for safety, longevity and appearance
  • Effectively maintains products so they maintain value and appeal for customers
  • Efficiently assembles and or sets up products for sale as required by the sales department
  • Updates inventory location and communicates through proper channels
  • Maintains building and yard for safety and appearance
  • Completes opening and closing duties as required

RV TECHNICIAN

Salary Range - $24-$34/hr

Efficiency bonus - up to an additional $16/hr

 

Smiths RV Centre is looking for apprentice or certified plumbers, electricians, carpenters, or RV technicians looking to expand their skills and improve their work-life balance right here in Thunder Bay.

 

We are looking to hire and train a professional with a trades background, any where from an experienced RV Technician to an apprentice trades person.  The RV Technician position allows an individual to learn and practice a number of different trades in the comfort of our indoor, heated and fully equipped service centres either here in Thunder Bay or at our offsite location near twin city crossroads. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Inspect and perform warranty repairs on new units arriving from the factory
  • Inspect and perform repairs on used units purchased from customers
  • Prepare units for customer delivery to ensure all systems operating as designed
  • Perform propane safety checks and repairs (Smiths provides employee with necessary certification)
  • Install vehicle hitching, wiring and weight distribution kits
  • Perform warranty appliance troubleshooting and repair
  • Diagnose and repair electrical concerns with assistance of a multimeter
  • Carpentry repairs including, flooring, wall panelling, exterior aluminum replacement, damaged framing replacement, etc.
  • Plumbing includes fresh water and waste water systems similar to home applications
  • Electrical repairs includes both 12V and 120V
  • Aftermarket installs including solar systems, awnings, accessibility modifications
  • Insurance repairs include tree impact, hail damage, water damage, etc
